Hello! I am Savannah Smithson a recent graduate from the University of Houston with a degree in journalism. As well as Journalism, I earned a minor in studio arts, where I focused on photography and digital media. I would describe myself as a self-starter, independent and group-oriented, and passionate.
I am looking for job opportunities in the communications and creative space. I am passionate about journalism and writing, as well as my photography and digital media experiences. I am looking forward to someday being able to combine both. For now, I am looking to develop my skills where I can to be successful in my efforts.
I enjoyed my college education being able to learn about the different aspects of writing and reporting on the news. In my Studio Arts classes, I learned how to work with the basics of photography and develop them to studio shoots and a semester-long thesis project. I took classes on the Adobe suite to be able to edit my photos, but also digitally create my own images. Throughout college, my favorite areas of involvement include UH Men's Basketball as the lead photography/media intern, Chi Omega Fraternity where I have held several leadership positions, and UH Advancement Ambassadors where I am able to invest in the future of UH the way it has invested in mine.
