Savannah Smithson

Hello and welcome to my portfolio! I am glad you’re here! Click through each of my tabs to see each of the mediums I work with.

Hello! I’m Savannah Smithson, a marketing and social media specialist with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Studio Arts, where I focused on photography and digital media. I’m a self-starter who thrives both independently and in team environments, and I’m passionate about creating meaningful content.

For the past year, I’ve been working as a Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, where I’ve had the opportunity to manage social media channels, create marketing campaigns, and partner with other brands for college athlete’s NIL opportunities. Within athlete engagements, I reorganized the process and successfully managed athlete deliverables for multiple brands, which has further developed my skills in content creation and campaign execution.

I’m now seeking new job opportunities in the marketing, communications, and creative fields, with a particular focus on writing, content creation, and combining my photography and digital media experiences. I aim to continue developing my skills and contribute to a role where I can merge my passions for marketing, photography, and digital media.

Throughout my college career, I gained strong experience in journalism, writing, and news reporting. In my Studio Arts courses, I sharpened my photography skills, worked on studio shoots, and completed a semester-long thesis project. Additionally, I became proficient with the Adobe Suite, both for editing photos and creating digital designs.

My involvement at the University of Houston has also been invaluable. As the lead photography/media intern for UH Men’s Basketball, I gained hands-on experience in media production. I’ve held several leadership roles in Chi Omega Fraternity and have worked with UH Advancement Ambassadors to support the university’s mission and its investment in my education.

I’m excited to leverage my experiences from my full-time roll and from college and passion in a new role, where I can continue to grow and contribute to the creative and communications landscape.
